Who and what is metro1000.com?
We are a small company that buys frequent flyer mileage and awards and sells airline tickets obtained from these awards. Our activities are that of a "middleman" bringing together buyers and sellers. metro1000.com is not a travel agency. We are not involved with cruises or vacation packages. Our focus is on providing a select number of regular clients with exceptional service and substantial savings on their tickets.
Describe the way your company transacts business.
Our transactions are clean and efficient. We are very much aware of the security concerns people have about doing business over the internet. That is why we pay for miles upfront in certified funds prior to having tickets issued. Similarly, we bill for ticket purchases after the buyer has received a paper ticket or has an e-ticket receipt from the airline. Payment is expected within 3 days after the clients receipt of the ticket(s) and invoice.
This seems like a risky way of doing business from your perspective. Are you ever scammed?
Yes, however this seldom happens. Most people are honest and honor their commitments. We always speak with prospective clients prior to transacting business and if we feel uneasy there will be no deal. In the rare instance where we are not paid for tickets or the mileage holder does not provide the miles, we will bring suit. We will do this even if we lose money on legal fees and travel. It is a matter of principle.
Is selling mileage and buying frequent flyer tickets legal?
Yes, although the airlines discourage this practice. Technically, you could have your tickets seized or mileage confiscated. This almost never happens because the airlines do not know whether the ticket was given to you - which is permissible - or if it was purchased. As long as you know the name of the mileage holder who "gave" you the ticket and his/her city address you should have no problems.
What are the procedures for purchasing tickets?
Send an e-mail with the requested information. We will check frequent flyer seat availability for the itinerary you are seeking and will contact you with this information. Keep in mind that the airlines have capacity controls on frequent flyer seats and we are not always able to get reservations. You will always be contacted within 24 hours so that you will know where you stand.

What are the procedures for selling miles?
Send an e-mail with the requested information. We keep an inventory of mileage from the major carriers so that we can fill orders quickly. When we buy mileage, we pay immediately with the understanding that the mileage holder will have tickets issued in the future on an as needed basis. Mileage cannot be transferred so we trust the mileage holder to keep the mileage in his/her account until needed. When orders come in we send the mileage holder an e-mail containing the passengers name, the record locator and the itinerary. In most cases, the tickets can be issued by simply calling the carrier and providing the account number and PIN. All taxes and fees are reimbursed to the mileage holder. We will let you know within 24 hours whether or not we can buy your miles.
